Just Words

Reading these words,

Etched across the page.

Carved on mashed pulp,

Stained with thoughts and

Ideas of centuries that

Pass down to the next.

Words, constructed in a

Certain order and sequence;

A simple concept that

Conveys so much meaning to

The individual. The controlled,

Yet-free mind of the human.

What is said today might

Not display the same

Meaning decades or

Centuries from now.

Transplanting words across

New context.

Just as the words of

Ancient philosophers and

Queens and Emperors

And everyday people

Struggle to find their place

In the modern world.

These words that we

Love and cherish,

Hate and rebuke,

Throw and catch.

These words have so much

Power.
